Broome

Day 21 – August 9, 2014 – Broome - distance travelled: 28 kms - 32^oC high; 13^oC low.  Happy 16th birthday Shannon!  At Shannon’s request we had bacon and eggs for breakfast which was a change from the usual cereal.  Later in the morning we explored the Saturday market beside the courthouse in Broome.  Nice market, with lots of stalls selling a variety of art, jewellery, clothing, food etc. plus there was even live music complete with didgeridoos.  In the afternoon we spent a few hours on Cable Beach and everybody had a swim in the ocean.  Grocery shopping after that, with Shannon choosing pasta, chicken and a carbonara sauce for her birthday meal and lemon cheesecake with boysenberry icecream for desert.   While Gwen did several loads of laundry Don and Jordan went for a swim in the pool.  We all very much enjoyed Shannon’s birthday meal after that!
