Karijini National Park to Eighty Mile Beach
Day 19 – August 7,
2014 – Karijini National Park to Eighty Mile Beach - distance travelled: 588 kms
- 29oC high; 12oC low. We spent most of the day driving north on the
Great Northern Highway, a very busy road with many road trains. Don counted at
one point and in about 1.5 hours observed 40 road trains with four trailers coming
in our direction, presumably having delivered iron ore to Port Hedland. We arrived at the caravan park at Eighty Mile
Beach just in time to set up our tents in daylight and see the sun set over the
ocean.
