Kununurra to Gregory National Park

Day 28 – August 16, 2014 – Kununurra to Gregory National Park - distance travelled: 338 kms - 30oC high; 14oC low.  Our choice of placement of our big tent had clearly not been a good one:  the tent fly was covered with bird poop, some type of berry and sap.  The tree below which our tent was located looked pretty bare and innocent when we set up the night before, but Gwen spent well over one frustrating hour cleaning the tent fly in the morning.  After packing up we drove to the Coles in Kununurra and stocked up for the coming days plus filled one tank with diesel (anticipating that Katherine would be quite a bit cheaper).  On our way direction Katherine we left Western Australia and entered the Northern Territory and in doing so crossed a time zone which meant that it was suddenly 1.5 hours later.  We set up camp at the Sullivan Campground in Gregory National Park; very basic facilities but for $7.70 for a family still good value for money.  In bed by 6:45pm Western Australia time, so 8:15pm Northern Territory time.
